Being Full-Figured and Fabulous

Being a full-figured, sexy woman, I can relate to where Monique was coming from with her “Fat Chance” beauty contest. I did disagree with the way we were portrayed. If you watched the show, you’ll notice that the finalist were still the smallest of the entire group. You will also notice that the judges were not the best for the show. Why would you want Shaq to be a judge? What makes him such a good choice to judge such an event? I have friends that attended the same college as Shaq. They can always tell which women he would be attracted too, in fact, he probably didn’t realize, but at other schools, women would say, “Girl, you should go to LSU, you probably can get a chance to date Shaq. You now you have that look he likes – thin and light-skinned.  Why didn’t the judges include other full-figured men and women, or at the least those that appreciate full-figured women?

I also disagreed with the derogatory terms used on the show. Words like Fat and Big Girl, have always been used in negative ways, why not create words that allow you to think positive about being larger? Why not create new words that will improve the experience? This does not say that I don’t think I’m fat. I know I’m fat and don’t care how you feel about the way I feel about myself. I love me, no matter what size. Don’t get me wrong, I do want to lose a little weight right now, but not because I feel any less than anyone else. I’ve been spending so much time working, I forgot to go to the gym : ) So now I’m getting that middle bulge again and don’t have the energy like I need to be able to play and dance like I love.  I’ve accepted that I will always be on the thicker side, but I do know that I still need to be healthy.  So that’s my current goal to feel my best and working out and losing a little will help with that too.

Also, I don’t always agree with the styles that Monique wears, but it’s her. Monique consistently wears styles that don’t compliment her figure or show her at her best.  I would never want to dictate to anyone on what to wear. I know for a fact, that many don’t always agree with what I wear. So what? I’m not trying to be negative towards Monique at all. I love her outlook on life and find her a very talented, caring person that does what she wants to do. So I have much respect for her and love her for being her.  I don’t always like with what Jennifer Anniston wears either, so it’s not because of Monique’s size that I disagree, it’s just the choice.

Plus size and smaller women, all need to look their best.  I also believe that the world should change and treat everyone the same and not judge you purely on looks, no matter if it’s because you are overweight, dark-skinned, a sister that sports a natural hairstyle or just look differently than others.

Many women, especially smaller women, pay attention to the products that are available today.

How do I know that? Well I sell more X-small and Small girdles than 2X and 3X sizes.
